Dr Lokesh Garg

Dr Lokesh Garg is a Senior Consultant in Orthopaedics, Joint Replacement, Spine Surgery and Orthopaedic Oncology at Shalby International Hospitals, DLF Phase V, Gurugram. He is a pioneer in joint replacement and orthopaedic oncology, and one of the few dedicated ortho-onco surgeons in India, with over a decade of experience.

He has performed more than 2,000 bone and soft tissue cancer surgeries, over 1,000 joint replacements, and 500 hip and pelvis surgeries, including complex reconstructions using 3D-printed implants. His expertise spans limb-preserving procedures, internal hemi-pelvectomy, re-implantation of sterilized bone, and complex reconstructions using biological and mechanical approaches including megaprosthesis, spacers and customized implants.

Dr Garg completed his MBBS at Government Medical College & Hospital, Surat, and his MS in Orthopaedics at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. He went on to complete a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Oncology at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, New Delhi, and an Observership in Bone & Soft Tissue Tumour at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.

He has held positions at several leading institutions including Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital & Medical College, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, Tata Memorial Hospital, Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, and BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital, all in Delhi/Mumbai. He has contributed extensively to scientific literature, with publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals and chapters in oncology textbooks. He is a member of the Indian Orthopaedic Association, the Indian Musculoskeletal Oncology Society, the Delhi Orthopaedic Association, and the Societe Internationale de Chirurgie Orthopedique et de Traumatologie.
