Dr Vivek Verma

Dr Vivek Verma is Director of Orthopaedic Oncology & Joint Reconstructive Surgeries at Max Healthcare, practicing across Max Super Speciality Hospital, Patparganj and Vaishali. He is an internationally trained orthopaedic oncologist and joint reconstructive surgeon, recognised as one of the leading experts in limb-preservation surgery and advanced bone and joint reconstruction, with 19 years of experience.

He completed his MBBS at B.J. Medical College, Pune, followed by a DNB in Orthopedic Surgery at MIOT Hospitals, Chennai. He went on to complete a Clinical Fellowship in Trauma and Joint Replacement at BG Klinik, Tuebingen, Germany, and a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Oncology at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai.

Dr Verma specializes in the management of bone and soft tissue tumours, including sarcomas such as osteosarcoma and Ewing's sarcoma, and benign or locally aggressive tumours such as giant cell tumour and bone cysts. His surgical repertoire spans minimally invasive procedures like radiofrequency ablation and percutaneous curettage, joint-preserving surgeries, limb-preservation surgeries with megaprosthesis and intercalary resections, biological reconstructions, and paediatric-specific solutions including expandable prostheses and customised 3D implants.

He also performs primary, complex and revision joint replacements of the hip, knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle, including robotic-assisted procedures, along with total femur and total humerus replacement, spinal tumour surgery, and limb-preservation procedures for pelvic and chest wall tumours. He treats complex reconstruction cases in both adults and children, including chronic infection, bone defects, deformities and complex trauma.

Prior to joining Max Healthcare, Dr Verma served as a Fellow in Orthopaedic Oncology at Tata Memorial Cancer Centre, Mumbai, and as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Madras Institute of Orthopaedics & Traumatology, Chennai. He is a member of the Indian Musculoskeletal Oncology Society (IMSOS), the Indian Orthopaedic Association, the Delhi Orthopaedic Association, the Indian Medical Association, and the Medical Council of India.
