Choosing a Dental Treatments specialist in India

Dentistry in India splits into recognised specialities, and knowing which one you need is most of the work of choosing well. An implantologist or oral and maxillofacial surgeon places implants. An endodontist does root canals and rescues failed ones. A prosthodontist designs and fits crowns, bridges, veneers and full arch prosthetics, and is usually the person who leads a full mouth rehabilitation. An orthodontist plans braces and aligners. A periodontist treats gum disease and prepares a mouth that is not yet ready for implants. At the better clinics these are five different people, not one dentist covering all of it.

The dentists in India listed here were selected on that basis: MDS qualification in the relevant speciality, years in independent practice, the volume of cases they handle in their own discipline, and the clinic or hospital they operate from, since even an excellent dentist needs CBCT imaging and a good laboratory behind them. Many hold additional implant or aesthetic fellowships. Send your scan and we will tell you which specialist your case actually calls for, with a treatment plan inside 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the best dentist in India?
The useful question is which speciality your case needs, not who ranks highest overall. Ask how many cases of your specific treatment a dentist completes in a year, not how long they have been qualified. For implants, a dentist placing them weekly with CBCT planning is a materially safer choice than one doing a handful a year. We match specialists to cases on that basis and will say plainly if the strongest option for your treatment sits outside our usual list.
What qualifications should a dentist in India hold?
BDS is the basic dental degree in India and MDS is the postgraduate speciality qualification, which is what you want for anything beyond routine work. The relevant MDS branches are Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, and Periodontics. Registration with the Dental Council of India or the relevant state dental council is mandatory. Many senior dentists also hold implant fellowships from centres in Germany, the US or Korea.
Can I speak to the dentist before I travel?
Yes. Once your OPG or CBCT scan has been reviewed, we arrange a video consultation so you can go through the plan, the number of visits, the implant system being proposed, the prosthetic material, and what result is realistic in your case. Interpreters are arranged for Arabic, French and other languages at no extra cost. Many patients take two or three of these calls with different specialists before deciding, which we encourage.
Will the same dentist treat me throughout?
For most treatments, yes. A full mouth rehabilitation or a full arch implant case usually involves two specialists working together, typically an implantologist or oral surgeon for the surgical phase and a prosthodontist for the prosthetic phase, which is how it should be done. You will know both names before you travel, and one of them leads the case and stays your point of contact.
What about follow-up after I go home?
Your treating dentist remains the clinical reference. You leave with your scans, treatment records, implant certificates and warranty documents, so any local dentist can pick up routine care. We schedule teleconsults at the intervals your dentist specifies, usually at two weeks and three months, and pass photographs or local X-rays back for review. For full arch implant cases we help you plan and time the return trip for the final prosthesis.
