Dr Gaurav Dixit

Dr Gaurav Dixit is Head of Haematology, Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant (Unit II) at Artemis Hospitals, Gurugram. He completed his MBBS and MD in General Medicine at Pt. B.D. Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak, in 2008. After completing his senior residency in General Medicine, he joined the Department of Clinical Haematology at AIIMS, Delhi, in 2011, where he developed a strong interest in the study and treatment of blood disorders. In 2012, he joined Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, for his DM in Clinical Haematology.

Before joining Artemis, Dr Dixit worked for four years each at Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, and Action Cancer Hospital, where he was instrumental in setting up bone marrow transplant programmes at both centres. In 2020, he was awarded a professional certificate in multiple myeloma from Mayo Clinic, USA.

He is well-versed in the latest developments in haematology and follows international treatment guidelines. His special interests include leukaemia, myeloma, lymphoma and aplastic anaemia. He performed the first bone marrow transplant in Kenya in October 2022. He is recognised for his teaching skills, contributing wherever he has served, and is an active member of several professional organisations in India and abroad.

Dr Dixit performs autologous stem cell transplants, matched sibling allogeneic stem cell transplants, haplo-identical stem cell transplants, matched unrelated donor transplants and CAR T-cell therapy. His areas of expertise span both benign haematological disorders — including thalassemia, sickle cell disease, paediatric immunodeficiencies, aplastic anaemia and congenital bone marrow failure syndromes — and malignant haematological disorders, including acute myeloid leukaemia, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, chronic myeloid leukaemia, myelodysplastic syndrome and myelofibrosis.
