Dr. I P S Oberoi

Dr. I.P.S. Oberoi is Chairperson of the Orthopaedics Program and Chief of Robotic Joint Replacement & Arthroscopy Surgery at Artemis Hospital, Gurugram, with 33 years of overall experience and 28 years as a specialist. He is a knee and shoulder specialist, and a top arthroscopy and joint replacement surgeon.

He is an expert in primary and revision joint replacement surgeries of the knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, and ankle joints, and is one of the first surgeons in India to pioneer minimally invasive reconstructive surgery (arthroscopy) for shoulder, elbow, hip, and ankle problems. He has also mastered techniques for managing multi-ligament and complex knee injuries.

He completed his MBBS and MS in Orthopaedics from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and his MCh in Orthopaedics from Liverpool, UK. He underwent extensive postgraduate clinical training internationally, including joint replacement and adult reconstructive trauma surgery in Munster, Germany; knee reconstructive surgery in Hannover, Germany; joint replacement training at Nuffield Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Exeter, UK; knee arthroscopy training in Straubing, Germany, and Johannesburg, South Africa; and shoulder surgery training in Rhein, France, and Cape Town, South Africa.

He has published research on joint replacement, arthroscopy, and sports injuries in textbooks and journals, and prepared manuscripts for arthroscopy education. He is a visiting surgeon at Al Tawara Medical/Teaching Hospital and Military Hospital, Sanaa, Yemen, and has been invited to lecture at medical schools and hospitals in Iraq, Iran, Oman, and Syria.
