Dr. Puneet Agarwal

Dr. Puneet Agarwal is Vice Chairman - Neurology at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, with over 26 years of experience. He was among the first few doctors to conduct an Inflammatory Genes study in stroke patients and to use IV Valproate in status epilepticus, and presented the largest series of thrombolysed stroke cases in India at the European Stroke Conference.

He completed his MBBS from King George Medical University, Lucknow, and his DM in Neurology from G.B. Pant Hospital, Delhi, securing the first rank. He pursued a Fellowship in Critical Care Neurology and Stroke at UCLA, Los Angeles, and Sentara Hospital, Virginia, USA, along with training fellowships in Sonothrombolysis, TCD and Carotid Doppler, and Sleep Study at the National University Hospital, Singapore, and in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), Parkinson's Disease, and Botulinum Toxin injections in Spain and Amsterdam.

Dr. Agarwal has served as Assistant Professor of Neurology at AIIMS, New Delhi, and has contributed numerous publications and chapters to peer-reviewed journals including Cochrane, Lancet, Seizure, Brain Research, and Epilepsia. He has guided several DM Neurology and MD (Medicine) thesis and research projects, and is a PhD thesis guide at IIT Delhi for research on brain wave signal processing in neurological diseases.
