Dr. Sumit Singh

Dr. Sumit Singh is Chairperson - Neurology at Artemis Hospital, Gurugram. A topper at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and BL Soni Gold Medal awardee, he joined AIIMS as Faculty in 2000, where he established the first Headache Clinic in India in the government sector in 2002.

He is a widely recognised expert in headache disorders and has co-authored the headache management guidelines for the Indian subcontinent. He pioneered the use of Botulinum toxin for headache in India in 2002, and extended its use to trigeminal neuralgia. He is also a well-known Parkinson's disease specialist with extensive experience in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery patient planning and programming.

His primary area of interest is movement disorders, and he is one of the few Botox injectors in the country treating writer's cramp, spasmodic torticollis, other dystonias, hemifacial spasm, and blepharospasm, in addition to spasticity management. He has conducted groundbreaking research in myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, and movement disorders. He served as Additional Director of Neurology at Medanta - The Medicity from 2009 to 2016, where he led the Movement Disorders and Headache programmes. He has 126 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 26 book chapters to his credit.
