Dr Rakesh Durkhure

Dr Rakesh Durkhure is Head of General, Minimally Invasive & Bariatric Surgery (Unit IV) at Artemis Hospitals, Gurugram, with over 25 years of clinical experience. He is renowned for his expertise in robotic surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery and bariatric surgery, and is a pioneer of the Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery technique, which minimizes scarring and enhances patient recovery.

He completed his MBBS at Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Indore, in 1995, followed by an MS in General Surgery from the same institution in 2000. He also holds MRCS from Edinburgh, along with fellowships including FMAS (Minimal Access Surgery), FIAGES (Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons), FALS (Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery) and FAIS.

Dr Durkhure's expertise spans advanced laparoscopic techniques, bariatric surgery including sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass, and gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary procedures. He is an active member of several esteemed national and international surgical associations, including the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) and the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI).
