Dr Vipul Vijay

Dr Vipul Vijay is an orthopedic and sports medicine specialist based in South Delhi, with over 14 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. He currently practices as a full-time Consultant in Orthopaedics, Joint Replacement & Arthroscopy at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi.

He completed his MBBS and MS in Orthopaedics at the University of Delhi. He has been associated with Indraprastha Apollo Hospital since 2013, first as a Clinical Associate, then as Attending Consultant since October 2014. Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Resident in the Department of Orthopaedics at Lady Hardinge Medical College and associated Dr. RML Hospital, Kalawati Saran Children's Hospital and SSK Hospital, New Delhi.

Dr Vijay has a special interest in joint replacement, and knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and is particularly experienced in guiding athletes through recovery and performance optimization using evidence-based approaches. He holds international fellowships including the World Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship, the Indian Orthopaedic Association Johnson & Johnson Travelling Fellowship, and the ESSKA Smith & Nephew International Arthroscopic Travelling Fellowship.

He has authored or co-authored numerous research papers and case reports published in journals including BMJ, BMJ Case Reports, the Journal of Arthroplasty, and Apollo Medicine, covering topics such as joint replacement techniques, rare orthopedic presentations and sports injury management. He is an Associate Member of the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT), and a member of the Indian Orthopaedic Association, the Delhi Orthopaedic Association and ESSKA.
