Dr. Rakesh Kumar Khazanchi is the Chairman of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram. He served as Secretary General of the 15th World Congress of the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS 2009).

He specializes in cosmetic surgery, reconstructive microsurgery, vascular malformations, replantation of amputated parts, and head and neck reconstruction. Over the course of his career, he has undertaken twenty-two research projects and published more than 60 papers in national and international journals, in addition to contributing four textbook chapters and authoring a book on plastic surgery for general surgeons.

Dr. Khazanchi completed his MBBS from Punjab University, Chandigarh (CMC Ludhiana), graduating with a Gold Medal, followed by his MS in Surgery with distinction from the same university. He went on to complete his MCh in Plastic Surgery along with a fellowship in microsurgery. He has held visiting professorships at institutions including Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, King George's Medical College, Lucknow, and the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.
