Dr Subhash Jangid

Dr Subhash Jangid is Principal Director and Unit Head of Orthopaedics & Joint Reconstruction at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, with 27 years of experience in joint replacement and reconstruction surgery. His primary work focuses on knee, hip and shoulder joint surgeries, including replacement, and he has performed more than 20,000 surgeries over his career.

He completed his MBBS at Sardar Patel Medical College, Bikaner, his MS in Orthopaedics at AIIMS, New Delhi, his DNB in Orthopedics from the National Board of Examination, and his MCh in Orthopaedics from the University of Seychelles – American Institute of Medicine. He is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow, UK.

Dr Jangid was the first surgeon in India to introduce NAV3 computer navigation for knee replacement surgery and has been among the pioneers in bringing robotic-assisted joint replacement, including the NAVIO robotic arm, to India. He trained in these techniques in Austria and at Oxford Hospital, UK. He also holds a US FDA-accepted patent for an instrument to remove uncemented femoral implants.

Earlier in his career, he served as Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at S.N. Medical College, Jodhpur, Senior Consultant in Arthroplasty at Primus Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, Head of Orthopaedics and Joint Reconstruction at Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon, and Head of Joint Reconstruction at Fortis Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. He was also part of the team that established India's first bone bank at AIIMS, following American Association of Tissue Banking guidelines.

He has a special interest in peri-articular trauma and is a well-known faculty member at arthroplasty conferences across India, frequently invited as guest faculty. He is a member of the Indian Orthopaedic Association, the Indian Society for Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Indian Arthroscopy Society, and the Delhi Orthopedic Association.
