Dr Himanshu Verma

Dr Himanshu Verma is Director of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurugram, with over 17 years of clinical experience in the comprehensive management of complex vascular conditions. His expertise spans arterial, venous, lymphatic and dialysis-access disorders, with a special focus on high-risk and limb- or life-threatening cases.

He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, followed by a Fellowship in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. He went on to complete the Ted Rogers Fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA, and holds FEVS (Fellow, Vascular & Endovascular Surgeon) certification.

Dr Verma specializes in advanced endovascular interventions, open vascular surgery and hybrid procedures, treating conditions including aortic aneurysms, redo (previously failed) vascular procedures, peripheral gangrene, varicose veins and diabetic foot. He is particularly noted for performing complex vascular surgeries under local anaesthesia, reducing procedure-associated risks and hospital stay. He has extensive experience with more than 5,000 complex AV fistula surgeries for dialysis patients, and is a trainer and founder of the AVF Care Workshop.

He is deeply involved in complex vascular reconstructions, onco-vascular surgery, emergency and trauma care, limb salvage, pelvic venous disease, dialysis access creation and advanced arterial revascularization. Before joining Fortis FMRI, he served as Consultant at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram, Paras Hospital, Gurugram, and Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital, New Delhi. He has authored over 40 publications, including nine book chapters, and has made more than 25 presentations at national and international conferences.
