Dr. Suraj Munjal

Dr. Suraj Munjal is Founder and Chief Medical Director of The Sight Avenue Eye Hospital, Delhi NCR, with over 23 years of experience in ophthalmology. Following in the footsteps of his parents, Dr. R.C. Munjal and Dr. Chand Munjal, he has built The Sight Avenue into one of the most advanced eye care institutions in Delhi and North India, treating patients from across India and internationally.

He completed his MBBS and MS in Ophthalmology from University College of Medical Sciences & GTB Hospital, New Delhi, followed by a Phacoemulsification Fellowship at Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital. He also completed a clinical fellowship at the University Hospital of Tuebingen (UKT), Germany, and served as a Senior Resident at GTB Hospital and RML Hospital, New Delhi.

Dr. Munjal specialises in refractive surgery and cataract surgery, including robotic cataract procedures, LASIK, Contoura Vision, and SMILE, along with corneal transplants and squint surgery. He has performed over 25,000 cataract surgeries, 10,000 LASIK procedures, 1,000 squint surgeries, and 1,000 corneal transplants. He was among the first surgeons to introduce LASIK and ICL procedures to Mauritius, and is one of the top users of Multifocal and Toric Intraocular Lenses (IOL) in Delhi NCR. He is registered to perform surgeries with the medical councils of Mauritius and Nigeria, and has travelled to the Middle East, including Iraq, Dubai, Kurdistan, and Bahrain, to perform surgeries at the invitation of local governments. He regularly treats patients from Nigeria, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, GCC countries, Australia, the USA, and Germany.

He received the Best Paper Award at AIOS (All India Ophthalmological Society) in 2008, and has served as faculty for the Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS) for five consecutive years. He also regularly organises free eye care camps for underprivileged communities.
