Dr Dinesh Singhal

Dr. Dinesh Singhal is a Senior Consultant in the Department of GI Surgery, GI & HPB Oncology and Robotics at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, with over 30 years of experience in advanced gastrointestinal surgery. He belongs to the pioneering generation of surgeons who helped establish Surgical Gastroenterology as one of India's most sought-after subspecialties for higher surgical training.

He completed his MBBS in 1988 and Masters in Surgery (Gold Medalist) in 1992 from G.R. Medical College, Gwalior, followed by senior residency in General Surgery at Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi (1993–1996). He then completed postdoctoral training in Surgical Gastroenterology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, and went on to train as a Clinical Research Fellow in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery at the Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam, working closely with renowned faculty in the field.

Dr. Singhal has undergone advanced training in Robotic Colorectal Surgery at Severance Hospital, Seoul, South Korea, and completed a pancreatic cancer surgery observership at Johns Hopkins, USA. He was part of the core team credited with establishing the first Department of Surgical Gastroenterology at Max Healthcare (Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket) in 2012, before joining Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.

He was honored with the prestigious FRCS Ad Eundem by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2022, and has received multiple research accolades, including a Gold Medal for Best Research Paper at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (2008) and recognition among the top 10% of research fellows at the Academic Medical University, Amsterdam (2004).
