About Dr. Nimish Gupta
Dr. Nimish Gupta is Principal Consultant and Unit Head in the Department of Nephrology at BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi. He has experience managing more than 500 live and cadaveric renal transplant patients over the course of his career, with wide expertise in managing post-transplant complications, infections, and rejection.
He completed his MBBS from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, in 2009, followed by his MD in Internal Medicine from the same institution, and his DNB in Nephrology from Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi.
His clinical interests include critical care nephrology, fluid and electrolyte disorders, and newer modalities of renal replacement therapy, including Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). He is also experienced in interventional nephrology, including tunnelled catheter insertion, native and graft kidney biopsy, and peritoneal catheter insertion. Before joining BLK-Max, he served as Director of Nephrology at SSB Heart Hospital and Multispeciality, Faridabad (June 2024–September 2024), and has previously held nephrology roles at Metro Heart Institute with Multispeciality, Faridabad, Metro Hospital, Noida, and Sarvodaya Hospital, Faridabad, alongside earlier positions in the Department of Nephrology at Max, Saket, and the Department of Medicine at Safdarjung Hospital.
Dr. Gupta has published several articles in indexed national and international journals, including a paper on hyperkalaemia in diabetes in the Postgraduate Medical Journal (BMJ), a case report on anti-thymocyte globulin-induced acute lung injury in a renal allograft recipient in the Indian Journal of Nephrology, and a case report on PLA2R-positive membranous nephropathy in a patient with Sjögren's syndrome. He has also participated as a speaker at multiple national and international conferences.
