Dr. Salil Jain

Dr. Salil Jain is Senior Director and Head of the Department of Nephrology and Renal Transplant at Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurugram. He is recognised as one of the leading nephrologists in the Delhi-NCR region, with extensive experience in dialysis, kidney transplantation, and critical care nephrology.

He completed his MBBS from the University of Bombay in 1995, his MD in General Medicine from the University of Bombay in 1999, and his DNB in Nephrology from the National Board of Examinations in 2005. He went on to complete a Fellowship in Nephrology and Renal Transplant from the University of Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Jain specialises in the treatment of chronic kidney disease, kidney failure, dialysis, and metabolic diseases, and is experienced in all types of kidney transplant, including cadaver, live-donor, and paediatric renal transplants. His clinical interests include acute kidney injury, kidney transplantation, and glomerulonephritis, and he has been actively involved in conducting camps and continuing medical education (CME) sessions to raise awareness of AKI and CKD prevention.

Before joining Fortis FMRI, he held senior nephrology roles at Medanta – The Medicity, Fortis Vasant Kunj, Apollo Hospital, and St. Stephen's Hospital. He is a member of the Indian Society of Nephrology (ISN), the Indian Society of Organ Transplant (ISOT), the American Society of Transplant, and the European Dialysis & Transplant Association, and has published extensively in national and international journals.
